Weldtool Hardfacing Type D is a solid steel core electrode with a specialized alloy coating. It produces deposits with superior resistance to severe abrasion and moderate impact. Other than tungsten carbide, Type D is the hardest commercially available hardfacing electrode. Deposits are non-machinable and can be applied AC or DC (DCRP recommended for max deposition). Ideal for dredge cutter teeth, tool joints, drill collars, brick dies, and conveyor flights. Composition includes Carbon, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, and Boron.
